Rooted deeply in the rich Carmelite tradition, the spirituality of the Congregation of
the Carmelite Religious (CCR) is a sacred invitation to live a life anchored in prayer,
contemplation, and loving service. Guided by the motto “In His presence we stand and
serve,” every CCR Sister finds her purpose not in grand acts, but in the quiet, powerful
presence of God that fills each moment of her journey. Inspired by St. Elijah, the fiery
prophet of Mount Carmel, and the Blessed Virgin Mary, the silent handmaid of the
Lord, the Carmelite way calls us to be contemplatives in action—deeply rooted in prayer,
yet ever ready to rise and serve.
Prayer and Contemplation are the heartbeat of our life. In the stillness of the heart, we
listen to God’s voice and draw strength to face the world’s challenges. In His presence,
we are transformed—our work becomes worship, and our silence becomes a song. Our
call to be prophetic witnesses urges us to stand up for the marginalized, speak for the
voiceless, and sow seeds of justice, compassion, and peace. Like Elijah, we are sent not
with thunder, but with the quiet fire of love that burns for truth and goodness.
Community life is where we live our spirituality in its most human form—through
shared prayer, meals, laughter, and even challenges. In living together, we become
mirrors of Christ’s love, encouraging and uplifting one another. Through our ministries
in education, healthcare, and social upliftment, we strive to be Christ’s hands and feet.
Each child taught, each wound dressed, each child embraced, is an offering placed at
the altar of Divine service.
The spirituality of the CCRs is not just a path for the religious—it is an invitation for all.
It calls every individual to live with an open heart, listening to God’s whisper in the
silence, and responding with generous love. In a world that often forgets to pause, the
Carmelite spirit reminds us:
Stand Still… Know Him… And Serve…
For it is only in His presence that we truly discover who we are and it
is only when we serve then we truly become who we are meant to be.
